Which herbs have to be planted together?

I've read that with some types of herbs you have to plant several of the same seeds together so you get a proper cluster of them. Which herbs in particular do you have to do this with, and does it have to be done with any of these: rosemary, thyme, catnip, sage, chamomile. Thankyou!!
