How to decrease the level of religion in western society without encroaching on peoples rights?

If you’re going to suggest education, sure that would work but only if people have the desire to be educated and the thing is, education is freely available to them now and yet still many, many people choose the myth and superstition offered by religions instead of education. As far as I can see, the only way to decrease religion is to take away some of the rights of religious people and really, I don’t think it would be that bad because all I’m talking about is taking away their right to lie to people and trick them into joining religions. I’m talking about defining the difference between ethical and unethical proselytizing and ethical and unethical profit making from religion and superstition. There are many, many unethical practices carried out under the guise of religion and much profit is made by taking advantage of people’s fears and superstitions. These should rightfully be stopped, wouldn’t you agree?
