What kind of 4-wheeler should we buy?

We are in the market to buy our first 4-wheeler and aren't sure what would be the best buy. We have acreage and it will (hopefully) mostly be used for yard work. i.e. pulling logs, pulling a trailer for trash. We want 4 wheel drive, manual shift, and has to be pre-teen friendly. Any input would be great.
