Help! I am being manipulated...?

Every day since summer started, I have been on news sites, blogs, and feeds; and every where there are rude, hateful comments against Muslims. After reading so many lies and comments of hate against Islam, I started doubting God a lot, but then I came to realize that those haters were only spewing lies, and misrepresenting Islam. But I wonder, why is there so much hate against us when there are so many of us? Why are haters attacking Islam in their posts and not the terrorists? And am I the only one who feels helpless against our predicament of continuous, irrational onslaught?
