Also if your not a very risky or daring dresser try solid colors in cool colors, Faded black, navy, indigo, forest or military green ( not camo), Khaki. Try Gap, Jcrew for a good starting point. Remember one good pair will last you a few summers, the clic look and length never goes out of style...however destroyed cut off jeans...I promise youll look back as your parents look back at the disco age and say "what was i thinking".
