Why do my dog's ears keep twitching?

It started a few days ago when I gave him a bath. He seems twitchy and scared. His eyes dart around as if he hears or sees something and then he runs off to hide his face under a pillow. His ears seem to twitch the most and he keeps shaking them off like there's something on them. I cleaned his ears and clipped his nails right after his bath, I thought I was careful. But is it possible that I hurt his inner ear or something?
